Bollywood news today
Bollywood news today brings a packed slate. There’s a birthday teaser date for one of Hindi cinema’s biggest stars a surprise social media debut, and fresh first looks from two very different corners of the industry. Here’s everything worth catching up on.
1. SRK’s King Teaser Set for His Birthday
Shah Rukh Khan’s fans finally have a date to circle. Director Siddharth Anand will drop the first teaser for King on November 2, Khan’s birthday. It marks the actor’s return to a full lead role after three years away.
A source close to the production called the timing deliberate: “It’s a birthday gift from team King to all Shah Rukh Khan fans.” The same source promised “a new SRK experience.”
The look itself marks a shift too. Khan appears with grey-flecked hair, a far cry from the polished action-hero image he’s leaned on in his last few films.
King also stars Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor. Kareena Kapoor Khan joins for a special song, “Daddy Cool,” and the team plans to shoot it in South Africa this month. The film arrives in theatres on December 24.
2. Saif Ali Khan Finally Joins Instagram
Saif Ali Khan has quietly made his Instagram debut under the handle @saifalikhanpataudi, after years of staying off social media. His first post wasn’t a selfie or a promotional push. Instead, he shared a photo of himself inside his family’s Pataudi Library, captioned “Pataudi Library.. Judging books by their cover..”
He follows exactly one account so far his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan. Within 24 hours, Saif had picked up more than 13,000 followers.
Saif had previously admitted he kept a secret account he rarely used. “I do have the Instagram app and a secret account too,” he told an interviewer in 2024. He added that he kept promising himself he’d delete it, then never did.
3. Udta Teer Pushed Back Again, This Time to Avoid Drishyam 3
Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy Udta Teer now lands in theatres on October 23, its second postponement. The film originally targeted September 11, then moved to October 9 and has now shifted once more.
The problem was timing. An October 19 release would have squeezed Udta Teer into the same week as Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam The Conclusion, which is already drawing strong box office numbers. So the team chose to sidestep that clash entirely.
Khurrana plays Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani agent who loses his memory mid-mission. He becomes convinced he’s working for Indian counter-terrorism instead, a mix-up that drives the film’s political satire and comedy.
4. Sunny Deol Reveals a Darker Side in Suryaa First Look
Sunny Deol has unveiled his first look from the upcoming crime thriller Suryaa – Ant Se Aarambh Tak. It’s a sharp departure from his usual action-hero image, the motion poster shows him bearded, weathered and notably restrained.
“Torn between Past and Present, He uncovers the TRUTH!” The title translates roughly to “from the end to the beginning,” hinting at a non-linear story.
Ravi Kishan and Pragya Jaiswal join him in the cast. The film opens in cinemas on November 20.
5. Vidyut Jammwal on What Really Separates Indian and Hollywood Action Films
Vidyut Jammwal is preparing for his Hollywood debut in Street Fighter and he’s weighed in on a common comparison – why Hollywood action spectacles often look bigger than their Indian counterparts. His answer: it’s rarely about talent.
“We work with the same technicians as they do and there is no difference,” he said. He pointed to SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali as proof. The real gap, he added, comes down to time. A scene that takes ten days to shoot in India might take four months on a Hollywood production.
Jammwal also described adjusting to Hollywood’s strict planning culture firsthand. He recalled wanting to rollerblade back to his hotel after a shoot. The production’s legal team stepped in first, since the activity hadn’t been cleared in advance.
In Street Fighter, he plays Dhalsim alongside a cast that includes Jaso n Momoa, Noah Centineo and Roman Reigns.
That’s five of today’s biggest Bollywood stories, from a birthday teaser countdown to a surprise Instagram debut.
