Awarapan 2 OTT Release – Streaming Details
The Awarapan 2 OTT release is officially live with the film now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Wider access rolled out on October 9, 2026, roughly eight weeks after its theatrical debut.
Prime Video announced the arrival with a short video featuring Emraan Hashmi himself. The caption read, “me in public vs my headphones,” alongside a line inviting fans to meet Shivam Pandit once again.
Cast and Story – What’s Different This Time
Emraan Hashmi returns to the role that built his cult following, Shivam Pandit nearly two decades after the original Awarapan first introduced the character in 2007. Disha Patani joins him in the sequel with Shabana Azmi also part of the cast.
Nitin Kakkar directs this installment a change from Mohit Suri, who helmed the 2007 original. The story pushes Shivam’s journey in a new direction weaving together a search for a missing child a dangerous trafficking network and the possibility of new love.
A Career Milestone at the Box Office
Awarapan 2 didn’t just perform well, it became a genuine turning point for Hashmi. The film crossed ₹150 crore in India net collections and went on to gross more than ₹213 crore worldwide.
That India net figure marked Hashmi’s first-ever ₹100 crore domestic grosser. For an actor known more for cult followings than blockbuster numbers this was a real shift.
Why Fans Are Excited About This Sequel
The original Awarapan never performed strongly at the box office on release. Over time it built a loyal following, and Shivam Pandit became one of Emaraan Hashmi’s most fondly remembered characters.
In their own words, Emraan Hashmi and producer Vishesh Bhatt have called this sequel something fans effectively willed into existence over time. They called it a tribute to everyone who kept the character’s legacy alive long after the first film left theatres.
For viewers who missed the theatrical run the streaming release offers a second chance to follow Shivam’s story from home. The emotional pull of the character, built up over nearly twenty years remains central to why the sequel has found an audience.
