Mumbai, October 31, 2026 – The Mirzapur The Movie OTT release arrived on 30 October 2026 as Prime Video began streaming the film worldwide. Viewers in India and more than 240 countries and territories can watch it exclusively on the platform. The streaming version is an extended cut with scenes audiences have not seen before.
Cast and story
Gurmmeet Singh directs the crime drama. Pankaj Tripathi returns as Kaleen Bhaiya with Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi. The story fits inside the first season’s timeline, so it works as an interquel rather than a sequel. It also takes the fight for Mirzapur’s throne from Purvanchal to the desert according to Prime Video’s announcement. Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios present the project with Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar producing.
From streaming series to cinema screens
Mirzapur began as a Prime Video series created by Karan Anshuman. Its first season arrived on 16 November 2018. Kaleen Bhaiya a carpet exporter and crime boss, rules Mirzapur district in Uttar Pradesh. The second season followed on 23 October 2020 and won the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Series (Critics). Season three streamed on 5 July 2024.
The makers moved the franchise to cinemas with a muhurat puja on 14 August 2025 at the Excel office in Mumbai. Sonal Chauhan and Anjum Sharma joined the cast that October.
Theatrical run before streaming
The interquel reached cinemas on 4 September 2026 and drew largely positive reviews. Its worldwide gross crossed ₹330 crore, which makes it one of the year’s biggest Hindi hits. The streaming debut followed the cinema release by eight weeks.
Where to watch
Prime Video streams it in Hindi with English subtitles. Viewers need an active subscription. The platform marked the premiere with an Instagram poster and a Hindi caption declaring that the bhaukaal or swagger has arrived. All three seasons of the original series also stream there.
