Emraan Hashmi & Himesh Reunite For Gunmaaster G9
Gunmaaster G9 brings Emraan Hashmi and composer Himesh Reshammiya back together for the first time in 20 years. The film releases in theatres worldwide on November 27, 2026.
It arrives right on the back of Awarapan 2’s success. Fans are calling this reunion one of the most anticipated pairings of the year.
The Story – A Milkman’s World of Action and Romance
Emraan plays a milkman in Gunmaaster G9 a clear departure from the roles he’s known for. The film blends action, music and romance into one package.
Notably, the story draws inspiration from Surakksha, the 1979 spy thriller that introduced the original Gunmaaster G9 code name, made famous by Mithun Chakraborty. Producer Deepak Mukut has spoken about how that older film shaped this new one.
Director Aditya Datt has called it one of the most demanding projects of his career. He said every action sequence and every frame was built to carry real impact.
Cast of Gunmaaster G9
Emraan Hashmi leads the film, joined by Genelia Deshmukh in her first on-screen pairing with him. Aparshakti Khurana also plays a key role.
The supporting cast includes Abhishek Singh and Inayat Verma. Sangeeta Ahir and Hunar Mukut join Deepak Mukut as producers.
A 20-Year Reunion Emraan Hashmi, Datt and Himesh
This isn’t the trio’s first collaboration. Hashmi, Datt and Himesh last worked together on Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005, a film remembered as much for its music as its story.
Datt described returning to work with both of them as an extraordinary experience. Meanwhile Himesh’s music was one of the biggest talking points of that earlier film, and expectations are high that this reunion delivers the same magic.
Studio Backing and Distribution
PEN Marudhar has picked up the all-India theatrical distribution rights for Gunmaaster G9, following its recent win with Awarapan 2. That deal gives the film a strong theatrical push across the country ahead of release.
Soham Rockstar Entertainment, Himesh’s own production banner, backs the project alongside the film’s producers.
Release Date and What to Expect
Gunmaster G9 hits cinemas on November 27, 2026, in Hindi. The teaser is already out, giving fans their first look at Emraan’s new avatar and the film’s tone.
Pairing a nostalgic trio with a fresh milkman-turned-hero story gives this one real crossover appeal for both old fans of the 2005 hit and newer audiences.
