Avengers Endgame Encore Advance Booking Hits 1.25 Lakh Tickets in India
Avengers Endgame Encore advance booking has crossed 1.25 lakh tickets in India for the opening weekend. Nearly 50,000 of those are for Day 1 alone.
Fans are losing it. The re-release lands on September 25, and the trade is already buzzing.
Avengers Endgame Encore Advance Booking: The Numbers So Far
Trade tracking gives the clearest picture. PVR INOX and Cinepolis have sold around 35,000 tickets for the opening day.
Across all chains, Day 1 admissions stand near 50,000. Meanwhile, the opening weekend total sits at roughly 1.25 lakh tickets.
Advance sales have grossed about Rs 6.25 crore so far. Notably, that figure comes before walk-in crowds arrive on release day.
Here is a quick way to read the numbers. The 35,000 figure covers only two national chains for Day 1, while 1.25 lakh covers the whole opening weekend.
How the Booking Momentum Built Up
The climb has been steady. Sales opened with a limited rollout at some premium screens and several centers had not gone live yet.
BookMyShow reported over 7,300 tickets in its first 24 hours. The platform also logged more than 1.55 lakh expressions of interest.
Soon afterwards, overall sales crossed 25,000 tickets, worth around Rs 1.50 crore. Consequently, trade watchers started raising their forecasts.
Chennai was among the metro centers still waiting to open at that stage. In other words, the early numbers did not show the full demand.
Why Fans Are Rushing: Bonus Footage and a Doomsday Sneak Peek
This is not a plain rerun. The Encore cut adds around four minutes of bonus footage and a new post-credits scene.
It also carries an exclusive sneak peek at Avengers: Doomsday. Fans should plan for a long sitting, since the film now runs 3 hours 10 minutes.
However, not every screen gets everything. Reports say the new post-credits scene plays only in IMAX and Infinity Vision screens.
That explains the rush for premium seats. The costliest ticket in the country currently sits at Rs 940.
Languages and Premium Formats
The film releases in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Consequently, fans in several language markets can book shows.
PVR Sangam in Chakala, Mumbai, is among the first Infinity Vision-certified screens. Trade sources expect more certified cinemas soon, including in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai.
Box Office Prediction: How Big Can Day 1 Get?
Advance sales alone point to a big number. Trade estimates say these figures would normally suggest a Rs 20 crore nett opening day.
However, this is a reissue, not a fresh release. Analysts expect the final momentum to be weaker than a new film would see.
Even so, trade watchers still hope for a Rs 10 crore nett opening. Notably, earlier forecasts were lower, at Rs 5-8 crore nett, so expectations have risen.
That would be the biggest opening for any re-release in India, not just a Hollywood one. Remember, these are estimates, not final collections.
Can Endgame Reclaim Its Box Office Crown?
The original film set a high bar in 2019. It was the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India at the time of its release.
Since then, Avatar: The Way of Water and Spider-Man: Brand New Day have overtaken it. Consequently, the top spot is up for grabs again.
Given the exceptional advance, fans are asking whether Endgame can win it back. Trade watchers admit it will not be easy, but call it far from far-fetched.
The 2019 Benchmark
The original run also made booking history. In April 2019, BookMyShow said it had sold more than 2.5 million advance tickets in India.
That was a record for a foreign film at the time. Naturally, a re-release cannot match those numbers, but it is off to a flying start.
What Encore Means for Avengers: Doomsday
Marvel has timed this release smartly. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for December 18, 2026, less than three months away.
The Encore response bodes well for that film. Trade watchers read it as proof of Marvel’s box office clout in India.
The brand took a hit in recent years, but interest looks alive again. Hence the Doomsday sneak peek is a big part of the pitch.
