Kartik Aaryan National Award Lalbaugcha Raja Visit
Kartik Aaryan carried his brand-new National Film Award straight to Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja pandal, just a day after winning it. He touched the trophy to Bappa’s feet and bowed his head in prayer.
The visit came less than 24 hours after he won Best Actor at the 72nd National Film Awards. It’s his first National Award, and clearly, he wanted to share the moment with Bappa first.
Kartik Aaryan Wins His First National Award
Kartik shared the Best Actor in a Leading Role honour with veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award on September 22 at Ekta Nagar in Kevadia, Gujarat.
He won for playing Murlikant Petkar in Chandu Champion, a biographical drama directed by Kabir Khan. The film traces Petkar’s journey as an Indian Army veteran who became a Paralympic gold medallist.
Mammootty picked up his fourth National Award for Bramayugam. That puts him level with Amitabh Bachchan for the most wins in this category.
Inside the Lalbaugcha Raja Visit
Kartik kept his look simple for the visit, a blue kurta paired with white trousers. Videos from the pandal show him walking up to the idol, holding the award close.
He spoke briefly about what the moment meant to him. “It’s a very happy moment for my entire family. I am very happy. I have come to seek blessings of Bappa,” he said.
Notably, he also spoke about the two events together. “I got the National Film Award, and after that visiting Lalbaugcha Raja, it feels great,” he added.
What Kartik Said About the Award
At the ceremony itself, Kartik appeared visibly emotional. He kept his reaction short and heartfelt: “I am extremely happy… I am speechless.”
He also shared a longer note on Instagram, reflecting on his journey so far. In it, he looked back at the young dreamer from Gwalior who chose acting despite the odds.
Meanwhile, he dedicated the win more broadly. Reports say he honoured every Paralympian in the country and everyone who keeps dreaming despite challenges.
