Tiger Shroff firing incident
Investigators have split into 15 separate teams and launched a manhunt following the attempt on Tiger Shroff’s life on Sunday. Three men on motorbikes reportedly fired at his vehicle that evening.
Tiger Shroff himself walked away unhurt. His driver and an autorickshaw driver were not as fortunate both sustained gunshot wounds in the attack.
Three Suspects Caught in Rajasthan
Police had traced three suspects to Kota in Rajasthan intercepting them at the city’s railway station as they attempted to travel toward Delhi. The detention came through a joint operation between Mumbai Police, Rajasthan Police, and the state’s Anti-Gangster Task Force.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who also holds the state’s Home portfolio confirmed the detentions and credited Mumbai Police for moving quickly. He had earlier called Shroff directly to offer reassurance telling him investigators would track down everyone responsible.
A post on social media, attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility. Police have not confirmed this link though the ongoing investigation is reportedly examining the gang’s possible involvement.
Some details remain unverified. We will update this article as investigators release further information.
A Pattern That Goes Back to 2024
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s name has repeatedly surfaced in connection with Bollywood security incidents. The most serious prior case involves Salman Khan whose Bandra residence was fired upon on April 14, 2024.
In that incident, two motorcycle-borne men opened fire outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments home before fleeing. Mumbai Police later invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act and investigators said the attack followed weeks of planning including a recce of the property and reconnaissance of two other actors’ homes by a separate accused.
Court filings reportedly described a contract worth Rs 20 lakh allegedly arranged to target Khan. Six people were eventually arrested in that case, while Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi remained named as wanted accused. Anmol was later deported from the United States and has since sought to formally surrender in the case which is still before a special court.
Reports have drawn a line between that case and the incident involving Tiger Shroff though confirmation of a direct connection is still pending.
Shroff’s Prior Security Concerns
This isn’t the first security scare tied to Tiger Shroff. In an earlier, unrelated incident a man was arrested in Punjab for falsely informing Mumbai police of a death threat against the actor.
With suspects now in custody the investigation is moving quickly. We’ll update this article as confirmed information emerges. How concerning do you find this pattern of attacks on Bollywood figures?
